Obtaining a Professional Work Permit (PWP) in Malaysia is a very tedious, exhausting and complicated affair. If anyone needs to apply for a PWP it has to be done through an employer. Malaysia practices very stringent laws in relation to working in Malaysia for expatriates. Anyone who works without a valid work permit is in breach of the Malaysian Immigration Act and can be liable to a fine of up to RM10,000 and/or imprisonment of not more than 5 years.
The legal spouse of an Expatriate of a PWP holder can apply for dependents pass for a legal spouse and for children below 18 years of age. If a dependant wishes to work they need to apply for their own working permits independently following the same requirements as main applicant.
We can assist you in the whole process from registering with the ESD and obtaining the expatriates work permit. You may contact us for further details.
